Venezuela is at peace dreaming of a “promising future”

Nicolás Maduro affirmed this Friday that Venezuela is at peace, united, with stability and dreaming of a “promising and great future”, marking 213 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

“I can solemnly say today, as constitutional commander in chief (…) mission accomplished, Venezuela is in peace, stability, united and dreaming of a promising and great future of independence, well-being and happiness,” he said during a civil-military parade, in Caracas, regarding Independence Day in Venezuela.

Maduro said that 213 years after the declaration of independence, Venezuela is “free, sovereign” for the “glory of the” founding fathers.

He added that “every test” he has had throughout his mandate has been overcome together.

«We passed each test, together, all the tests. When traitors and coup plotters emerged, that April 30, 2019, the people and the Armed Forces united, without firing a shot we defeated them,” he said, in relation to an uprising attempt, led by former deputy Juan Guaidó and Leopoldo López, accompanied by a small group of soldiers.

«There is no distance between the people and the military, not in our doctrine, our doctrine is the most beautiful because it is the doctrine that saw the birth of the popular armies of (Simón) Bolívar, of (Ezequiel) Zamora, brought to the 21st century, where the Force Bolivarian National Navy (FANB) is Bolivarian,” he added.

Maduro said that the Armed Forces base their doctrine on a “powerful civil-military union, of popular power and military power, to guarantee democracy and the freedoms of a country and a people.”

The FANB baton will not fall into the hands of an “oligarch”

Nicolás Maduro affirmed this Friday, with 23 days left for the presidential elections, that the baton of commander in chief of the Armed Forces will remain in “good hands” in the years to come and – he said – “will never” fall. in the hands of an “oligarch.”

“I swear before you soldiers of my country, I swear before you people of Venezuela, that this baton of command of commander in chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) (…) will continue in good hands in the years to come,” said.

Maduro maintained that the baton of command “will never” fall into the hands of an “oligarch, a puppet, a traitor, I swear, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces will never have that shameful act of dishonor.”
