Venezuela has everything it takes to become a cocoa power

The II National Congress of Cocoa eaters and Chocolateros was held with great success, bringing together producers, experts and cocoa enthusiasts from all over the country.

During the event, held at the Venezuelan School of Planning located in La Rinconada, various strategies were discussed to strengthen the cocoa and chocolate value chain in Venezuela.

Emphasis was placed on the importance of adopting sustainable and value-added practices, as well as the need to encourage access to international markets for Venezuelan cocoa products.

Sharing knowledge to boost efforts in cocoa matters

Leudys González, National Coordinator of the Venezuelan Cocoa and Chocolate Growers Movement, responding to the call of the Future Movement, participated with a speech, highlighting the importance of collaboration and continuous learning in the sector.

González stressed that “it is essential that as producers we integrate technical and scientific knowledge to improve our crops and the quality of our cocoa.”

He also stressed the importance of unity and cooperation: “Joint work is the key to positioning our cocoa in global markets and obtaining fair economic benefits.”

He also called on young people to get involved and contribute new ideas, assuring that “the future of cocoa is in the hands of the new generations, who have the ability to take this tradition to new horizons.”

González expressed his gratitude for the participation of all the states in the congress’ working groups, where key issues such as organization, willingness and efforts to improve the sector were discussed. “We are happy to have contributed and for the active participation of so many states. We continue working for Venezuela and here, President, you can count on this team of men and women willing to improve the quality of our country’s cocoa and chocolate,” said González, reaffirming his commitment to the growth of the sector.

Finally, the congress served as a platform for the exchange of experiences and the presentation of technological innovations that can revolutionize the cocoa industry in Venezuela.

Attendees were able to see that, through a coordinated effort and the implementation of improvements in production processes, it is possible to turn Venezuelan cocoa and chocolate into world-renowned products. “We have the potential, now it is a matter of joining forces and moving forward,” concluded González.

By joining forces, the performance of the country’s cocoa and chocolate sector can be enhanced.
