The Venezuelan men’s futsal team defeated Uruguay by a score of 2-0 in the South American Under 17 Paraguay 2024.

The match, held this Wednesday, August 21 at the Oscar Harrison Arena, leaves La Vinotinto undefeated in the tournament, with nine points out of nine possible, and qualified for the semifinals.

Goals from Carlos Neus and David Artigas were enough for José Peña’s team to take the win. They temporarily took the lead in Group B, while waiting to see what happens with Argentina (second with six points) in their match against Peru.

After three games, the Venezuelan team is undefeated in the South American Under 17 Futsal Championship. The first match was a free event, but the next three matches saw only success.

First they defeated Chile with a score of 2-1, then they crushed the Peruvian team 7-1 and now they achieved the victory over the Charrúas 2-0.

La Vinotinto has one game left. It will be this Thursday, August 22, against La Albiceleste, in what could be a fight for the top spot in their zone.
