The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) of Venezuela activated three armored cavalry battalions in Apure state, bordering Colombia, to combat and expel from Venezuelan territory the irregular armed groups of Colombian origin that are trying to establish themselves in the locality.
The strategic operational commander of the FANB, Domingo Hernández Lárez, reported on Twitter that battalions conduct “reconnaissance and surveillance missions” to confront the groups “Armed Terrorists Colombian Drug Traffickers”, which the Venezuelan authorities define as ‘Tancol’.
The military chief showed a video showing more than a dozen military tanks circulating through one of the border areas of Apure, a region in which the FANB troops, saidthey keep “tracking hideouts and burrows installed by Colombian narco-terrorists” within Venezuelan territory.
