With cards on the sailboats announced for the departure of the next “Everest of the Seas”, but also on the skippers, the route, the weather conditions and the animals likely to be encountered during the journey, collectors will be able to collect 200 vignettes.
The album will be broadcast from September 2024, two months before the start of the next edition – which will be given on November 10, 2024 in Les Sables-d’Olonne (Vendée).
“It is a great pride to see that, thanks to the Vendée Globe, sailing joins the Panini collections alongside the other major sports”, declared the director of the race around the world, Alain Leboeuf.
Panini, historically known for its football vignettes, launched another mythical sporting event in 2019 with an album dedicated to the Tour de France.
The company, founded in 1961 by four brothers in Modena, northern Italy, sells its albums in 150 countries and employs more than 1,200 people worldwide.
Since the creation of the Vendée Globe in 1989, only around a hundred sailors have managed to complete this round the world sailing trip, solo and without stopovers or assistance.
During the last edition, in 2020, Yannick Bestaven on Maître CoQ won in 80 days 3 hours and 44 minutes.
