MAZATLÁN.- With a spectacular closing, Venados de Mazatlán Basketball finished the first round of the Pacific Coast Basketball Circuit, CIBACOPA 2023, by beating the Caballeros de Culiacán 94-68.
The Lobodome of the Autonomous University of Durango Campus Mazatlán, vibrated from beginning to end of the game, where those from the port displayed a great game once morest their staunch rival.
By the way, Mazatlán took away the hegemony of Caballeros this season by placing a record of one victory in exchange for three defeats.
With this victory, Mazatlán tied the fourth position at the end of the first phase with a record of 7 wins and 9 losses.
Game
The first quarter of the Mazatlecos was spectacular, imposing conditions from the start by beating the visitors 26-9. In the second period, things evened out, although Mazatlán prevailed 19-17, leaving at halftime with a comfortable 45-26 advantage.
Venados showed their power at home having a spectacular first half, with a great offensive performance by Charles Strowbridge, with 11 points, accompanied by Alex Williams, with 7 points, Jeffrey Ledbtter and Vincent Bouman, both 6 points each.
Back on the court in the third quarter, Venados maintained his distance and control of the game at all times, leading his opponent 25-20.

The best scorers for Venados were Charles Strowbridge with 21 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists; Vicent Boumann with 15 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists, and Alex Williams with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists.
For the Knights, Michael Wright and Malik Hunter stood out with 14 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assists respectively.
