At the time, 10% of respondents were seriously considering this diet, and 34% declared themselves flexitarians (with meat consumption limited to 2-3 times a week maximum). It must be said that taking a break from meat is certainly good for your health, according to the most recent scientific studies. Thus, according to work published in March 2022, people who consume animal proteins less than 5 times a week have a (overall) risk of cancer of around 2% lower. And according to a study dating from June 2023, adopting a vegetarian diet would even promote remission in patients with type 2 diabetes.
