Accordingly, the selling price is extremely expensive up to 29,800 won (nearly 1 million VND) for 300-500g. This price is considered too expensive because a bunch of coriander in Vietnam is very expensive, only 2,000 VND – 5000 VND, but here it costs more than half a million VND. With that price can buy 1 quintal of coriander.

Many netizens think that this price is also understandable because the price level in Korea is quite expensive compared to Vietnam. In addition, coriander is difficult to grow and the quantity is small, so the price also increases.

A tiny bag of coriander at the supermarket is sold for 6,500KRW (regarding 140,000 VND).

From a different perspective, many housewives living in Korea think that there may be a mistake in printing the price tag on the bag, but there is no such thing as such an expensive price. Normally, the price of a bunch of coriander sold in Korea is only 3,000 won (60,000 VND).

With such an “exorbitant” price, Koreans process coriander is not the same as the way we Vietnamese use it. Koreans often process coriander into 2 quite mouth-watering dishes, which are deep-fried coriander and soy sauce-soaked coriander.

The secret to growing coriander in a pot in only 20 days

How to grow coriander is not difficult when you can ask for seeds to sow at home or make use of discarded coriander branches in the family’s vegetable bundle to grow water.

Coriander can be grown all year round, preferably in the Winter-Spring crop, from October to January next year.

The soil for growing coriander needs a fertile soil, rich in nutrients. Herbaceous coriander is very susceptible to waterlogging and root rot if the soil and pot are not carefully drained. Planting pots: coriander pots have a moderate size because the plants grow very quickly and give a continuous harvest. The plant grows to only 35–50 cm tall with one to three leaflets at the top.

Before sowing seeds need to soak seeds for 12-14 hours in water. Need to mix seeds with kitchen ash for easy sowing. Seeds need to be sown evenly. After sowing, it can be covered with light straw or a very thin layer of soil to keep moisture and seeds to grow quickly.

Watering should be done only once a day in the early morning. On rainy and humid days, you can stop watering the plants. Every day, pay attention to clean weeds to avoid them eating the nutrients of cilantro. After regarding 20-25 days from planting in the soil, you can trim the leaves to eat gradually or collect the whole bed.
