Acclaimed premiere in the Raimund Theater, sold a total of 12,000 tickets
How (OTS) – Vienna, April 1, 2023: Yesterday evening the acclaimed premiere of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR took place at the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien, a Wien Holding company. Artistic Director Christian Struppeck is showing the legendary rock opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice in a proven and longstanding tradition this Easter as an extraordinary concert highlight with a large orchestra at the Raimund Theater. Alex Balga’s production not only drew thunderous applause and standing ovations from the audience on yesterday’s premiere evening, the demand was so great in advance that all nine dates were already sold out in advance. A total of 12,000 tickets were sold before the big gala premiere. In the title role of the concertante version sung in English, musical star Drew Sarich was again to be experienced this time, alongside Alex Melcher as “Judas” and Nienke Latten as “Maria Magdalena”.
