This Wednesday (28), the Federal Police arrested Walter Delgatti Netto, who became known as the “Vaza Jato” hacker, for failing to comply with judicial measures. The arrest took place in Campinas (SP) and the information was confirmed by the g1 portal.

The hacker had been arrested in July 2019 during Operation Spoofing, which dismantled a criminal organization that practiced cybercrime. According to PF investigations, the group accessed Telegram accounts used by authorities.

After being arrested, Walter admitted to the PF that he entered the accounts of Lava Jato prosecutors and confirmed that he forwarded the messages to The Intercept Brasil website, which published a series of reports on the subject from June 2019.

Walter claimed not to have changed the content and not to have received any money for it. Shortly followingwards, the hacker obtained the right to await the trial in freedom, but suffered judicial measures to prevent him from being connected with computing devices.

And it was for failing to comply with these measures, according to the PF, that Walter Delgatti was arrested once more. In August 2022, the campaign of Jair Bolsonaro (PL), then a candidate for re-election, met with the hacker to discuss the security of electronic voting machines.

Also according to g1, Delgatti claimed to be able to hack the president of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), Alexandre de Moraes. Federal deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP), who is an ally of Bolsonaro, also met with the “vaza jato” hacker.
