Vayrac. Unipop film conference “Les harkis” at Uxello

For the second Unipop film-conference, from town to town, season 2022-2023, the Uxello cinema is offering a preview of the film “Les harkis” by Philippe Faucon on Monday September 19 at 6:30 p.m.

The screening will be followed, at 8 p.m., by a meeting, broadcast live from the Pessac cinema, with director Philippe Faucon and historian Tramor Quemeneur.

Philippe Faucon, born in Morocco, is one of those filmmakers who mix intimate questions and questions of society, as in “Sabine” (1993) which recounts the descent into hell of a mother suffering from AIDS. Attached to his native country, and familiar with suburban cultures, he uses it as support for many of his films. The fate of immigrants, adolescence, terrorism, North African culture, love, so many subjects that are at the center of Philippe Faucon’s concerns, just like the human consequences of the march of history and the traces that it leaves on beings. Tramor Quemeneur is a historian and specialist in the Algerian war.
