Vaud kills a first wolf in extremis

Wolf defenders had their fingers crossed that the pack would escape fire until the end of the month. But the Vaudois wildlife supervisors managed to kill a first young male on March 18, two weeks before the expiry of the shooting authorization. Faced with unprecedented attacks on cattle in the Jura, the Environment and Safety Department of Béatrice Métraux sent a request for regulation to Bern in August 2021. The decision makes it possible to “take” two young wolves from the total.
