A teenager from Bourg-de-Péage had confidence, he dared to ask to “do his second year internship at the Elysée” and he managed to slip his business card to the President of the Republic.
The veterans thus exchanged with Emmanuel Macron, thanking him for “honor” that he did to them. A man was able to show the photo of his uncle who died during the Vassieux-en-Vercors massacre. This visit was important for the relatives of the victims of the German assault in the summer of 1944. Only General de Gaulle had made a short stop in Vassieux in 1963.
