Riyadh: Study methods in universities are changing in Saudi. The Ministry of Education has taken steps to introduce courses and degrees as per the requirements of the labor market in the country. New schemes are designed to further improve the education process and meet the demands of the labor market.
The development plans were released by the University Affairs Council headed by Education Minister Hamad Al Sheikh. The process is done by collecting the figures of those who have completed their degree and those who are continuing their studies from the universities of the country. And the projects will also study the areas where they work, wages and job stability. The schemes will also help in maintaining a balance between the academic programs of the universities and the demands of the labor market.
The number of study seats in various fields will be increased according to the market value. In the first phase, the admission fees for health, engineering, technology and business administration faculties will be doubled. It will also reduce the number of courses that are not compatible with the labor market. The project was announced for three to five years. The ministry also said that following three years, it will be re-examined and necessary changes will be made.
