Thiruvananthapuram: Trial run of Vande Bharat Express train has been successful. The train reached Kannur in seven hours and 10 minutes from Thiruvananthapuram. This confirmed that the Vandebharat Yatra will save 2 hours 25 minutes compared to the fastest train on the same route, Janshatabdi.

Railways will take a final decision on the train timetable following evaluating the test run following returning to Thiruvananthapuram from Kannur at 9.20.

Vande Bharat Express started its journey from platform number 2 of Thiruvananthapuram Central Station at 5.10 am. High officials of various sections of Thiruvananthapuram Division were also present to observe the speed of the train and the condition of the tracks.
