Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen was slightly injured while hiking on Sunday. He was on the Kaunergrat in Tyrol. Officers from the Cobra police unit accompanied the Federal President. During the hike, Van der Bellen slipped. Cobra officers took him to a hospital. He suffered abrasions and a mild concussion. To be on the safe side, he spent the night in the hospital.
Van der Bellen had to cancel his appointments for Monday and Tuesday. Many politicians wished him a speedy recovery.
