Van crashed into trees: 2 injured in Natternbach

Rescue services, emergency doctors, firefighters and police were deployed in the municipality of Natternbach (Schärding district) on Wednesday followingnoon: A 52-year-old man from Enzenkirchen (Schärding district) lost control of his van while driving on the Kriegener Landesstraße. The vehicle came off the road near the town of Gschaid, skidded regarding 25 metres along an embankment and crashed into two spruce trees.

The driver and his 35-year-old passenger from Kopfing were so badly injured that they had to be treated by an emergency doctor at the scene of the accident and then taken to the hospital in Ried im Innkreis. The van was badly damaged. The Natternbach volunteer fire department was called out to clean up and recover the vehicle, police said in the evening.
