The former Mercedes driver wants to celebrate Aboriginal culture on the occasion of this Grand Prix in a country to which he is particularly attached. “Australian culture and history have been subjects that have interested me a lot for a few years, in particular thanks to my partner, Tiffany (Cromwell, Canyon-SRAM Racing professional cyclist) who is from the area, and we wanted to pay special tribute to the indigenous community,” Bottas said in a statement released by his team.
Helmet auctioned off for local charities
This helmet, titled « Journey », will be auctioned at the end of the race weekend. The sale is already open on the site F1 Authentics and will end on April 11. The money raised will be donated to two projects benefiting the local Australian Indigenous community: Save The Children, an independent children’s rights organization with which the Alfa Romea team has a partnership, and Koorie Academy Basketball, a non-profit organisation. non-profit whose objective is to integrate Aboriginal children into sporting activities.
