Valtteri Bottas (Alfa Romeo F1 Team) finished 8th in the 2022 F1 Round 3 Australian Grand Prix.
Following the decision to remove the fourth DRS zone on Saturday, the Alfa Romeo F1 team chose to make the wings thinner. It worked against him in qualifying, and Valtteri Bottas lost in Q2 to start on the 12th grid.
However, as predicted after qualifying, the setting worked in the final, and Valtteri Bottas was able to overtake in several battles and finished the race in 8th place.
“I really enjoyed the race today. It was a good performance with close races and battles from start to finish,” commented Valtteri Bottas.
“Of course, most importantly, I brought back some points, thanks to everyone on the team doing a good job.”
“I’m happy with the decisions we made and how we proceeded with the race. Yesterday the thin wing that put us at a disadvantage turned out to be the right choice and definitely helped us to make progress.”
“I had to work hard and push all the way through the race, but it was a fun day. I hope we can continue to grow stronger and improve in the future. Upgrades are planned for the next few rounds. You should be able to keep competing for points in every race. “
