Minister Marian Jurečka announced the parameters of the regular January valorization in 2025. There will be an increase in the basic amount of the pension and the merit portion.
The average pension will increase by CZK 356 and will reach the level of CZK 21,078 in January 2025. The basic amount of pensions will increase by CZK 290 and will now amount to CZK 4,690. The percentage of pensions will increase by 0.4%. It is therefore not a general increase as in January this year, but the amount of valorization for individual pensions will differ.
All types of pensions will be increased, i.e. old-age, disability and survivors’ (widow’s, widower’s and orphan’s). It is not necessary to request a valuation and it will be done automatically.
Currently, this is an estimate of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, which is based on current statistical data. The shape of the January valuation will definitely be determined by the regulation, which the government must approve by the end of September. However, the current estimate is already very accurate and the final valuation will only differ by a few crowns.
Last payment of valorization
In January 2025, the so-called valorization supplement will be paid for the last time. It is a proportional part of the valorization value for the period from January 1 to the day preceding the pension payment day.

CALCULATOR – Valorization of pensions 2025 and supplement
To determine the amount of the supplement, the amount of the difference between the amount of the pension before the valuation and the amount of the pension following the valuation is carried out is first determined. After that, the additional payment period is determined, i.e. the number of calendar days from January 1 to the day before the January due date. In practice, this means that senior pensioners with a higher pension and also those who have a later pay day will have a supplement. See an example:
Mr. Josef receives a retirement pension of CZK 20,000 and his payment date is the 14th of the month. The valuation in January 2024 will be CZK 353 and the surcharge will be CZK 151. In January, Mr. Josef will therefore be paid CZK 20,504, and in the following months already CZK 20,353.
All pensioners will receive the supplement and it will be paid in the same way as the pension is paid, i.e. either by bank transfer or via the Czech Post. Therefore, pensioners will receive two amounts in January, the pension itself and a supplement at the same time. It is also not necessary to apply for an additional payment.
