The level of Russian football has not fallen in the first year following the international suspension, said TASS head coach of the national team and “Rostov” Valery Karpin.

“The first year with the ban, as for me, did not show that something was degrading, on the contrary, they even began to develop, because young players or those who did not play before due to the number of foreigners get more playing time. I didn’t see any big drop in the level, ”said Karpin.

Surprise “Spartacus” and the return of Dziuba. What do you remember regarding the RPL season?

The coach noted that the level decreased due to the departure of many foreign players, but began to recover towards the end of the season. “We noticed that the level has slightly decreased, perhaps due to the departure of foreigners. But I think that by the end of the season, everything began to fill up, ”added Karpin.

Karpin called the progress of young players a positive moment of the RPL season. “For Rostov, the most positive moment is the team’s fourth place in the standings. For me, as a coach, the fact that many of our young players have established themselves in the squad or are reaching some level, that’s all, ”said Karpin.

The Russian national team and Russian club teams last year due to hostilities in Ukraine were suspended from tournaments under the auspices of FIFA and UEFA.
