It’s a surprise: one would have imagined that Georges-Louis Bouchez would put forward the Secretary of State whom he had himself appointed to the federal government, to try to “make profitable” his “investment” in the polls.
“Having two members of the Michel family as head of the list would have been complicated,” analyzes a liberal source. “Above all, this allows us to put two women at the top of the list in Walloon Brabant and to send a message.”
Electorally, the choice of Florence Reuter is however logical since the former journalist had achieved the second score of the MR at the Federal in 2019 (20,859 votes), behind Charles Michel.
Georges-Louis Bouchez also confirmed Charles Michel’s place at the top of the list on the MR’s European list.
