On the night of April 5, at the PFL tournament in San Antonio, America, Russian Valentin Moldavsky will fight with Croatian Ante Delia. For Fedor Emelianenko’s student, this will be the first fight under the auspices of the new organization. Previously, the 32-year-old fighter competed in Bellator, where he often brought the matter to a judge’s decision, but his record still includes one brilliant knockout.

Valentin beat the self-confident American until he bled and finished.

Slow start

At the Bellator 202 tournament, which took place on July 13, 2018 in the USA, Valentin Moldavsky fought his second fight in the organization and the eighth in his professional career. By that time, the Russian had a record of six wins and one defeat. The rival of Fedor Emelianenko’s student was the American heavyweight Ernest James, who never lost to anyone as a professional, but he also had only one victory.

However, the American was not lacking in self-confidence. In anticipation of the fight, the fighter stated that he would knock out the Russian. In his debut fight, he managed to win by knockout, but where does such confidence in the ability to easily finish Moldavsky come from? James was superior to Valentin in size: he was seven centimeters taller and 13 kilograms heavier, but he was clearly inferior in experience.

Even the first missed blows did not affect the American’s self-confidence. For the time being, he looked at his counterpart with some disdain. And Moldavsky was in no hurry to surprise his opponent: at the beginning of the first round he limited himself to low kicks and single jabs. James tried to answer this with a miracle combination, which was good in concept: a deuce and a high kick. But the Russian could not be taken by surprise; he immediately launched a very successful counterattack. The US representative’s plan for a lightning victory failed.

Powerful ending

After a couple of minutes of standing position at a distance and rare attempts to get into the exchange, the fighters decided to fight. The initiator was an American, and he accepted the Moldavian challenge. James failed to surprise the basic sambo wrestler; after a while the fighter from the USA found himself at the net and took blows with his knees to the body. However, Valentin could not develop his success in wrestling. At the end of the round, the Russian managed to land several powerful blows, but his opponent frankly failed this segment. In the last seconds, James was on his knees, taking the hammers to his head and just waiting for the gong.

By the beginning of the second round, there were fewer traces of self-confidence on the American’s face, and more blood. Valentin continued to work as number two and was in no hurry. He managed to meet his opponent with blows at a distance; our fighter was not too afraid of the fight, but did not want to get bogged down in it. Moldavsky successfully began to use overhands, which amazed not only the American fighter, but also the American public, who excitedly greeted every blow with a roar.

At the end of the fourth minute of the second round, Moldavsky made his opponent lose touch with reality with a powerful left jab. And when Valentin added on the right, James completely ceased to understand what was happening around him. A mad attempt to get to his feet ended with the Russian, without any resistance, delivering several more finishing blows and forcing the referee to intervene. Convincing victory for Emelianenko’s student!
