If the match is confirmed, it will mark the return of the Mexican national team to Puebla, the city where it last played on October 13, 2004. On that occasion, they beat Trinidad and Tobago 3-0, under the technical direction of Ricardo Lavolpe, in a match corresponding to the qualifiers for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

Three years later, Mexico hosted Panama at the Cuauhtémoc Stadium, but only 45 minutes were played as rain prevented the match from resuming. This year, the Mexican team returned, but in the U-23 category, in a friendly against Argentina that was in preparation for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

TOMORROW WILL BE the debut of Javier “Vasco” Aguirre, in his third cycle at the helm of El Tri, now accompanied by Rafael Márquez.

The game against New Zealand will take place at 7 p.m. at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.— RECORD
