A reunion between various members of the same family degenerated last fall. The son wanted to hit his father. He took it badly, since in the end he got away with a facial injury.

It must have been a Sunday like the previous ones. A happy Sunday meal, with the family, like many others before. On September 5 of last year, a meeting degenerated in central Valais. Two members of a family of Italian origin gathered in Mayens-de-Chamoson, got confused.
For trivial reasons, a verbal argument broke out between the father and his 36-year-old son. Visibly exasperated by the words of his eldest, the 30-something then grabbed the lid of a trash can, then approached his parent to hit him. The latter managed to protect himself and then managed to repel his assailant by knocking him to the ground. End of the first round.
Lack of proportionality
No time to breathe for the protagonists, that the father has literally freaked out. The sexagenarian then hit his son, still on the ground, touching him in the arm and chest with a lot of kicks. He also landed him two punches in the upper body, one of which hit his offspring’s head, breaking his nose.
By penal order issued on January 6, 2022, the Public Prosecutor (MP) of central Valais sentenced the father of the family to 30 day-fines of 30 francs, suspended for two years and to a fine of 200 francs. The man was found guilty of aggravated simple bodily harm. For the MP, “it cannot be admitted that the father acted in an excusable state of excitement caused by the attack previously suffered.” A disproportionate reaction that earned its author a conviction.
