Vaikule and Pauls are connected by a history of several decades. As a child, the future artist dreamed of becoming a doctor, but subsequently she failed to graduate from medical school. At that time, Laima had already performed in the Latvian variety show, where she became involved in bad stories related to alcohol and illegal substances.
In fact, the composer Raymond Pauls saved the future “nurse of the USSR”. He pulled Laima Stanislavovna out of the variety show onto the big stage. And if not for him, then who knows how the artist’s life would have turned out. It is likely that the domestic viewer would never have recognized the performer of the hit “Vernissage”.
Vaikule never forgets the composer. Even now, in her so frequent interviews, which are largely devoted to politics, Laima Stanislavovna manages to insert five kopecks about Pauls. For example, in the new issue of the YouTube show “And Graham Came Out,” Vaikule talked about the recent attack on the writer-foreign agent Viktor Shenderovich, who was doused with ketchup for his statements. She remembered a similar incident with Pauls. True, it was not the sauce that hit the composer in the face, but the cake. That unpleasant situation happened at the New Wave music competition.
“Any actions with humiliation, with pouring paint in the face … I witnessed how Raymond Pauls was hit in the face with a cake,” said Laima Stanislavovna.
Recall that in the same interview, Vaikule made a sudden statement. As it turned out, over the past year, many acquaintances and friends began to boycott the Latvian celebrity. According to Laima Stanislavovna herself, for many she was blacklisted due to regular political statements.
“They do not understand what is happening: who is bad, who is good. If I say “don’t hurt someone else”, I’m bad. They are not answering the phone now. Like in kindergarten: “You took the doll, but your girlfriend is not talking to you.” Stupidity is impossible, ”complained Laima Vaikule.
