VADEL Nasir returns with his latest work entitled Trust Issue, a song which tells the story of the experience of approaching someone who has experienced trauma in a relationship, which has led to trust problems.
“The song is a story about me approaching someone who has trust issues,” said Vadel, opening the conversation.
Born in Gorontalo on January 13 1996, Vadel has written a number of works that address the theme of love from a unique perspective.

Since migrating to Yogyakarta in 2014 to study, and then moving to Jakarta in 2019, his life’s journey has provided inspiration for making music.
Songs from famous musicians such as Brian McKnight, Boyz II Men, Westlife, and Glenn Fredly have been a big influence on Vadel in developing his musical style.

Personal experience often becomes his inspiration in creating songs. Like the song Trust Issue, which was created based on his own life story.
“I’ve had this experience myself, but it was a long time ago. I’m just now thinking about making a song,” he explained.
These experiences were then put together into a song that tells about the difficulties of having a relationship with someone who is still trapped in the wounds of the past.

Vadel also revealed the reasons behind choosing the title Trust Issue. According to him, this theme is rarely discussed in Indonesia, so he feels this song can provide a new color in the music industry.
“I think it’s rare in Indonesia,” he said.
Trust Issue is not the first song Vadel has released. Previously, he had released four other songs which were his own creations. Although he admits that he still has many songs that have not been published.

“There are four self-composed songs that have been released, but there are many that haven’t been released,” he said.
For Vadel, creating songs is not too difficult because he is quite used to it. However, there are times when challenges arise when he has to adjust to requests from other parties.
“Maybe because I’m used to it, it’s not really difficult. But it depends, if there’s a request, I change the pattern. That’s a bit difficult. But if it comes from the heart, it’s easy,” he said.
Vadel’s songs are often inspired by personal experiences, so he finds it easier to write and compose lyrics that are relevant and relatable to listeners.
“On average, from personal experience, it’s easier, more relatable and thank God, the writing is still in the industry. It’s easy to listen to,” he said.
The process of creating the song Trust Issue itself was quick and simple, similar to the previous song entitled Simpan Rasa, it didn’t take long, just by using a guitar, Vadel admitted that he immediately got the tune and lyrics. For the musical arrangement, he chose a simple approach so that the message of the lyrics was more pronounced.
“Make it simple. Not too complicated. If ‘Save the Taste’ it’s a bit beaty, if it’s not too mellow, it can still be digested,” he added.
The single Simpan Rasa has earned 12.7 million listeners on Spotify and 14 million views on YouTube.
The theme of love is a topic that is often raised in Vadel’s works. However, he always tries to present a different point of view from each story.
“More often we look at romance, but from a different perspective. Basically, it’s a relationship between two people,” he said.
Vadel also tends to choose sweet tones so that they are easy for listeners to remember. This is not without reason. Vadel wants his songs to be easy to remember.
Through the song Trust Issue, Vadel tries to convey an important message about giving opportunities to new people, even though there may still be shadows of the past.
“Give someone new a chance, because you don’t know whether this person is good or not. Instead of continuing to be stuck with your ex,” said Vadel. (Z-1)

**Interview with Vadel Nasir on His Latest Single “Trust Issue”**
*Host:* Welcome, Vadel! It’s great to have you here today. Congratulations on the release of your latest single, “Trust Issue.” Can you tell us a little about what inspired this song?
*Vadel:* Thank you! I’m really excited about it too. “Trust Issue” has a deeply personal backstory. It’s about my experiences approaching someone who has had trust issues due to past traumas in their relationships. I wanted to capture the emotional difficulties of building trust when someone is still healing from their scars.
*Host:* That sounds very relatable. Why did you choose to focus on this theme, especially since you mentioned it’s rarely discussed in Indonesia?
*Vadel:* Exactly. Many people deal with trust issues, but it’s not a topic that’s commonly explored in music here. I thought it could resonate with listeners and add a new dimension to the Indonesian music scene, highlighting something that many feel but seldom talk about.
*Host:* Personal experiences often shape artists’ works. How did your own journey influence the creation of “Trust Issue”?
*Vadel:* Yes, my own experiences definitely played a big role. I faced similar challenges in the past, and it took me some time to process those feelings before I felt ready to put them into a song. It’s almost therapeutic to turn those memories into music.
*Host:* You’ve mentioned that you’ve produced other songs before this one. How does “Trust Issue” compare to your previous works?
*Vadel:* “Trust Issue” feels like a natural evolution of my style. While I’ve tackled love in different ways before, this song dives deeper into emotional vulnerability. I hope it engages listeners in a more profound way.
*Host:* You said you have many unreleased songs. Are there specific themes you’re exploring in those as well?
*Vadel:* Yes, there are several! I often draw from my personal experiences or observations of those around me. Each song is like a diary entry, reflecting different moments in my life.
*Host:* Thanks for sharing that, Vadel! What can your fans expect from you in the near future?
*Vadel:* I have more music in the pipeline, and I’m excited about experimenting with different sounds and themes. I hope to keep connecting deeply with my audience through my music.
*Host:* We’re looking forward to it! Thank you for your time today, Vadel, and best of luck with “Trust Issue”!
*Vadel:* Thank you very much! It was great to share my thoughts with you.
