Vaccination, public health and proactive commitments

The end-of-year holiday period was an opportunity for the representative of the State in the department, the prefect Rodrigue Furcy, to go and thank the vaccination sites to meet the teams involved in the device.

The vaccination campaign was launched in the Adour-Madiran intercommunal territory on January 18, 2021, and which is continuing at the pace imposed by the evolution of the pandemic situation and the methods resulting from the consultation of the scientific council and the government.

At the multimedia center in Vic, where the Octav room has been set up for this purpose, at the end of 2021, a point if not a balance sheet. First say the adaptation to the situation for the agents in post of the cultural service Isabelle Marre, Christophe Lefroy, Dominique Garcia, on the front line for the reception and administrative part; say the active participation of elected officials who have ensured by their side during the sessions on the days of vaccinations, in particular the 6 elected officials of the Régie de l’Octav (more particularly delegated to the programming, and the organization of events), it is already recalling the missions and skills of the community. Finally, indicate that since the start of the campaign, teams of medical and paramedical personnel (practicing professionals and voluntary retirees) no less than thirty liberal nurses and fifteen doctors (6 retirees) have invested in the system, it is to say the complementarity certainly and even more the direction of the general interest and citizen. Without concealing that sometimes, both sides have had to deal with reactions of criticisms or very minor but real protests (request for a particular vaccine, appointment, etc.). However, in terms of 2021 statistics, between January 18 and December 30, the number of injections administered breaks down as follows: 1st injection (12,025), 2nd injection (11,947), 3rd injection or single dose ( 6,406).

* Continuity and modalities

First of all, get information by contacting on site during opening hours from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Octav, vaccination center, 21 place du Corps-Franc-Pommiès) or by phone (05.36.30.01.65 ) or online (Doctolib.fr).

Namely: the vaccination center has the only vaccines allocated to it in a departmental distribution. We knew the community of Adour-Madiran municipalities engaged in the fight once morest medical desertification, it demonstrates responsiveness and adaptability in unprecedented public health situations.
