The homework was done before the holidays. Announced at the end of February by the Head of State, the vaccination campaign once morest human papillomavirus (HPV) – at the origin of more than 6,000 new cases of cancer each year – is ready to be deployed in at least three regions .

A good first, ARS Nouvelle-Aquitaine unveiled its agenda at the beginning of June: “As of September” the collection of “authorization of both parents” will be done online via a “dematerialized form”.

Students who have obtained this parental permission will then receive the first dose “between October and December”, then the second “between April and June”, each time in their college and “during school time”.

The injections will be performed by “mobile teams” caregivers outside the establishment, under the aegis of “vaccination centers” already identified — most attached to hospitals or clinics.

Vaccination once morest the papillomavirus will be completely free

The ARS aims to “vaccinate the 70,000 5th graders” of New Aquitaine, beyond the target of 80% by 2030 set in the government’s cancer plan.

More cautious, its neighbor in Occitania indicated at the end of June aiming “at least 30%” of the age group concerned, or “a potential workforce of 21,000 college students” vaccinated next year.

Its calendar is even more precise, with a first injection planned “from November 6”, so at the start of the All Saints holidays, and the second “me-may”, or following the Ascension Bridge.

In the Paris region, the agenda is more flexible: contacted by AFP, the ARS Ile-de-France evokes “a first dose of vaccine proposed between October and January, the second six months later” and also hope “affect one in three students” out of a total of 150,000 5th graders.

On the government side, Ministers François Braun (Health) and Pap Ndiaye (Education) have for the time being satisfied with a letter, intended for the parents of 6th graders – who will therefore go to 5th grade in September –, recalling that “This vaccination will be totally free” and ensuring that “information sessions can be organized at the start of the school year”, without further details.
