As part of its growth and contributing to its social commitment, the Technological University of Ciudad Juárez (UTCJ) opened and made the services of its Physiotherapy Center available to the community in general.
The traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony was headed by the rector of the (UTCJ), Carlos Ernesto Ortiz Villegas, who was accompanied by various officials and directors of the institution, among other authorities.
“The Physical Therapy Center greatly helps and strengthens the teaching academic work, but it is also an opportunity for the community to occupy those spaces that they require for physical therapy care and opening it with this degree of academic quality represents a very important help” Ortiz Villegas said.
He specified that with this space that will provide service to the public, he joins the effort of the State Government in support of the population, since the attention will have an accessible cost and will be provided by professional personnel and interns of Social Service in Physical Therapy.
“The opening of this service to the community allows us to fulfill the great social commitment that characterizes us as an institution of higher education, training professionals and attending to the population’s most basic needs, such as physical health,” said the Rector.
In turn, the director of the degree courses in Physical Therapy and Civil Protection and Emergencies, Ana Eréndira Rascón Villanueva, commented that the Center will pay attention from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., in the morning shift and from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the evening and offers services of Hydrotherapy, Thermotherapy, Mechanotherapy, Development and Psychomotricity, Electrotherapy and Multisensory Stimulation, among others.
“We are inviting the community to come and make use of our facilities, where they will be treated by professionals from the health area, specifically physiotherapists and physiotherapy students who can treat them for the different pathologies and medical diagnoses they may have, both trauma , such as neurological, rheumatological, sports and of any origin, “said Rascón Villanueva.
He explained that the cost per session is a recovery fee, really symbolic, “it is less than what is charged in the private area in general and the main requirement is that they come with a medical diagnosis already made, so that a protocol can be established. physiotherapy care”.
He explained that the objective of this opening program of the Center is primarily to provide service to the community, in addition to contributing to and strengthening the teaching-learning process of students in the physiotherapy specialty.
