The UTA announced and lifted a collective strike scheduled for last Tuesday, June 13 at the AMBA. The strike was suspended because the companies granted “the requested salary increases” in the mentioned area. In any case, the interruption of the service was felt -although in a different way- in the rest of the country.
From the union they expressed that the employer intends to impose a “precariousness of working conditions” and a “reduction of sources of work.” In addition, they pointed out that due to the “highly inflationary” economy, they suffer a “reduction in salaries” due to the delay in reaching an agreement.
From the sector they demand a staggered increase in wages for July, August and September. In addition, it is claimed for an increase in the per diem of the drivers.

The Union of Automotive Tramways (UTA) announced that it might carry out a stoppage in the short and medium distance buses for the interior of the country, within the framework of a salary claim that seeks a staggered increase that includes a salary of $348,800 in July, $380,192 in August and a basic salary of $414,409 in September.
In addition, from the union they demand, in the same terms, an increase in per diems for drivers: $1,997 in July, $2,176 in August and $2,372 in the ninth month of the year.
Although the affected lines were not clarified, the UTA has already ordered a possible 48-hour strike, stipulated for Thursday the 22nd and Friday the 23rd, in case an agreement is not reached for the wages of its workers.
The statement of the UTA
Through an official statement, the Unión de Tranvários Automor anticipated the measures of force for this week: “We are not going to observe paralyzed the one with the least performance of services and the precariousness of the working conditions that they intend to impose on us, nor the reduction of sources of work, nor lose in working conditions and much less allow the reduction of salaries to be imposed on us due to the delay in agreeing in a highly inflationary economy like the one we are going through”.
“The authorities ignore their obligations in terms of transportation without taking into account the damage they cause to the nine million passengers that we transport daily due to the lack of services, ignoring the risk they generate for the thirty-five thousand sources of work and the wages that are the support of our families”, they added.
Within this framework, a final hearing is expected tomorrow at 4:00 p.m., where the conflict will be unlocked and the measure of force that might affect passengers will be prevented.
