In a survey carried out by Diario Panorama, public transport users expressed their dissatisfaction with the union’s measure.
This Tuesday the the UTA announced a 48-hour bus stoppage, which will affect nine million Argentines. The measure also affects short and medium distance transport within the country.
Ante the consultation of Diario Panorama, users from Santiago were upset by the measurewhich will run from zero this Wednesday until Thursday, October 13.
“This measure affects those of us who go out to work every day. We already suffer the frequencies with which it circulates. Now a two-day strike will also affect us. We have no other alternatives to get around,” said a teacher who travels daily from the south of the city.
A retiree who is usually transported daily for health reasons, on urban lines, also disagreed with the stoppage in collective transport. “I am retired and this strike affects me because I have to go to the doctors or get my medicine. It doesn’t seem viable to me, especially now that remises are also increasing, ”she indicated.
The union’s measure came following the negotiations with the businessmen from the interior of the country were cut short, in which they asked for the same remuneration that they granted to the AMBA workers.
