Malba (Museum of Latin American Art in Buenos Aires) launches Sala (Open Sounds of Latin America), an audiovisual digital project that invites bands and soloists to perform their own songs and covers from the region in its galleries Classic song, museum closed.

Session 01 is led by You Signemelo, an Argentinian alternative rock band formed in Mendoza that has managed to become one of the most famous bands in the country’s music scene. Last May, Sala’s 01st session was recorded, in which You Señálemelo performed their song Cabo and a cover The Bidet Promise Author: Charlie Garcia.
The trio performed the songs live in front of a graphic work by Nontsikelelo Mutiti, which is part of the Choreographies of the Impossible exhibition at the 35th São Paulo Biennale in Buenos Aires.

The launch of the project took place in Malba on Wednesday evening and was attended by leading figures from the museum and Sony Music, as well as musicians, producers, journalists and celebrities from the arts and music world. Following introductory remarks by Elena Nofal, Director of Development at Marba, the film was screened for the first time in front of the entire auditorium while premiering on the museum’s YouTube channel.

Background of Marpa and his Sara cycle
Marba has a long history with music since programming.
In 2014 he presented the Color Humano suite, choreographed by Fernando García, in which Orquesta Típica Fernández Fierro, Palo Pandolfo and Chancha Vía Circuito performed live in the museum auditorium.

Since 2018, Malba Joven has been running the Open Sky Music cycle, which brings together renowned musicians from the regional indie and electronic scenes to play in front of the public in open spaces such as museum terraces or the Esplanade.
The cycle has launched six editions, and participating artists include Franzizca, Aylu, UJI, Paula Maffía, Goyo Degano, Las Ligas Menores, 1975, Silvestre y la Naranja and Marina Fages, among others.
