Facebook and Instagram crash: users report failure this March 5, 2024
Connection failures with Facebook and Instagram services were reported this Tuesday, March 5, and the DownDetector platform confirmed it.

Users from Guatemala and different parts of the world have expressed their annoyance because they have not been able to access their profiles on Facebook and Instagram, this Tuesday, March 5.
According to DownDetector, the platform specialized in tracking this type of problem, both services have experienced problems.
The outages of the Facebook and Instagram services were reported starting at 9 a.m. (Guatemala time), following users alerted the failure.
The platforms removed users from their accounts in the applications and currently they cannot connect that way or via the web.
Official stance
Andy Stone, communications leader at Meta, spoke on X (formerly Twitter) and said that the company is working on solutions. “We are aware that people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now,” Stone posted.

“Earlier today, a technical issue caused people to have difficulty accessing some of our services. We resolved the issue as quickly as possible for everyone affected and apologize for any inconvenience,” Stone said, confirming that services are now working with normal.
