The Secretary of Health, Vicente Joel Hernández Navarro, led the first work meeting in which the agreements that will be implemented in the new health security decree before the covid-19 pandemic.

He said that in view of the panorama currently registered by the covid-19 In the entity, the sanitary and health security agreements that will be implemented in the coming months were analyzed, among which also stands out the use of the mandatory face mask for food handlers and in people who present any respiratory symptom, regardless of the where they are.

“As a preventive measure, any person with any respiratory disease, including covid-19, is highly recommended to use a face mask, no matter where the person is; And by culture, we must all apply frequent hand washing, healthy distance and cover ourselves with our forearm when sneezing,” explained Hernández Navarro, noting that these measures must be used permanently.

Currently, Tamaulipas has a total of 184,128 cases of covid-19, of which 8,119 were fatalities due to the disease.


Monkeypox and dengue

In this first meeting, the topics on the current situation of monkeypox were also analyzed, since this year seven cases have been registered in the entity.

As for dengue, they will reinforce dissemination and prevention campaigns so that the population knows the symptoms of this type of illness and the demand for medical attention is timely.
