Ergotherapy Austria once again emphasizes the cooperation of healthcare professionals on an equal footing for the health of patients!

Occupational therapists can do so much more than is currently legally permitted. Especially in times of a shortage of skilled workers in the healthcare system, this offers the opportunity to relieve the burden on other professional groups, such as doctors.

Marion Hackl, President of Occupational Therapy Austria

Vienna (OTS) It has long been known that the healthcare system is facing major challenges. Many professional groups also want to make their contribution to both improving patient care and keeping healthcare costs under control. Approaches to solutions continue to be ignored and dismissed as invalid by various professional groups. This does not contribute to constructive solutions and is unused potential, especially with regard to the financial equalization negotiations.

Thanks to their in-depth training in patient care, occupational therapists can carry out the occupational therapy process independently. They have the necessary skills to treat their patients and, if necessary, can also provide them with medical aids and aids as part of occupational therapy.

For many years, Ergotherapie Austria has been committed to amending the job description and reforming the MTD law in order to be able to master the future challenges in the healthcare system together with the other healthcare professions.
