USCIS Sends First Messages to Parole in Place Candidates: What Do They Say?

Parole in Place applicants have already begun receiving text messages and emails from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

The message sent by Uscis informs undocumented immigrants that they have been identified to submit the I-601A application and that they are eligible for the Parole in Place program.

In addition, the USCIS recommends that candidates create a myUSCIS account to submit their application and offers the opportunity to verify the eligibility details of the process on the agency’s official website.

Uscis y Parole in Place

USCIS reminded that applications will be accepted starting next Monday, August 19. However, just a few days after this date, this message has already been sent to immigrants who are partners, children and parents of US citizens.

On the other hand, the federal agency warned that the sending of this notification should not discourage people who have pending cases for the I-601A waiver application.

“This notice will explain which forms to submit, the associated filing fees, any required documentation, and supporting evidence that will be needed to apply for a temporary stay permit. The application process is expected to begin later this summer,” the spokesperson said.

Program estimates

The Parole in Place program will help approximately 500,000 undocumented spouses of U.S. citizens and 50,000 stepchildren adjust their immigration status to be able to live legally in the United States (US).

The I-601A waiver gives illegal immigrants the opportunity to process a consular procedure that allows them to obtain a Green Card and thus avoid sanctions under the Punishment Law.

This legislation punishes any undocumented person who has been in the US illegally for more than 181 days with imprisonment of between 3 and 10 years.
