Washington ∙ The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that the lottery will be held this year to fill the quota of H1B work visa applicants, including Indians. The draw will be made from those who have already submitted for electronic registration, meeting all the criteria.
The first phase selection of applicants for the financial year 2024 was completed in March. The period for follow-up on the application has been announced from April to June. The selection following scrutiny goes into the draw following the annual limit is not reached. This will open up opportunities for more Indians including IT professionals.
USCIS offers 65,000 regular visas to foreign professionals in fields such as IT, finance, engineering, and architecture, and 20,000 visas to those who have completed a master’s degree or higher from a US university.
