🎃 Halloween Comes to the Canaries! 🎃
Hold onto your broomsticks, folks! This Friday, November 1st, the Canaries are rolling out the orange carpet for the visiting Périgueux, transforming the Albert Domec Stadium into a Halloween paradise! And by paradise, I mean a delightful mix of sporting drama and preposterous pumpkin puns. It’s not just a match; it’s a pumpkin party!
🍬 Costume Contest and Candy Grab for Kids
Starting from 6 p.m.—because what’s Halloween without a little chaos—parents are invited to usher their little ghouls to the stadium. Why? Well, there’s no better way to get your kids hyped up on sugar than at a football match! Plus, USC is handing out candy to all who dare to strut their stuff in costumes. Will they be charming little witches, heroic superheroes, or perhaps someone wearing a questionable chicken suit? Who knows! The sweetest part? There’s a makeup workshop! So if your kids are looking like they’ve just rolled out of bed, you might want to add some spooky flair while you still have time. It’s like Michelin for monster makeup!
👻 Hunt for the Pumpkin Ghost
Now, here’s where it gets a tad spooky! The Pumpkin Ghost lurks around the aisles, probably judging your snack choices and offering sweets to those brave enough to approach. I mean, who wouldn’t want to negotiate candy with a ghost? Keep your wits about you and your eyes peeled—he could be lurking behind the nachos or hiding under your seat. Horror films everywhere are shaking in their boots!
🎃 The Giant Pumpkin Weighing Competition
Think you’re a pumpkin prodigy? Then test your guessing skills with the Giant Pumpkin Weighing competition! Put your knowledge of oversized gourds to the test and see if you can guess USC’s giant pumpkin’s exact weight. The winner will be crowned (and I mean literally with a trophy-sized magnum of Première Bulle from Sieur D’Arques). Announcements will happen at halftime, so show up with your scales and your best guess—who knows, you might just walk away as the king or queen of the pumpkin patch!
🍷 The Géante Winery is Back!
Let’s raise a glass (or a pumpkin spice latte, if you’re feeling festive) as the beloved Géante Winery returns! Yolande, Gérard, and their merry band of volunteer spirits will be serving up delicious drinks and bites as soon as the stadium doors swing open. Rain threatening to ruin your haunted evening? Fear not! Their giant bodega is your refuge from the drizzle, where the atmosphere is as lively as a thousand trick-or-treaters invading a candy shop!
🚗 Important Parking Info
Planning to drive? Here’s a spooky twist: the Cité des Sports car park is currently off-limits due to construction shenanigans. So you’ll have to park your pumpkin carriage in the Jean-Cau car park or along the banks of the Aude river. Just be sure to keep an eye on it—those ghosts can be quite mischievous with their scaring tactics!
Ticket holders! You can skip the queues. If you’ve got your match tickets locked and loaded, enter through the main entrance or the secondary entrance near the Canal du Midi stand. Just don’t forget your ticket or you might end up haunting the ticket counters like a ghost from a horror flick!
👻 Join the Fun!
This Halloween soirée at the Canaries isn’t just a match; it’s a full-on seasonal celebration! Between the costumes, the ghoulish games, and the pumpkins galore, who could resist such an invitation? Bring your kids, your friends, and a determination to beat the Pumpkin Ghost in a candy showdown; but remember to leave your fears at the door because it’s going to be an unforgettable night! So, haters be jealous, and let’s score some candy and goals!
