Corey Burke saw the bloody rampage — during which she allegedly strangled, bitten and butchered her 67-year-old father in the Seattle home they shared — as an “act of liberation,” according to the indictment.
Burke, 33, is an education program director at Blue Origin, Jeff Bezos’s spacecraft company, according to her LinkedIn, and is married to prominent transgender author Samantha Leigh Allen, according to public records.
The 33-year-old said that with her criminal act “I wanted to help people break the bonds of their parents. It had to be done today” with the police describing that they found the attacker at the entrance of the house with her face covered in blood.
The 33-year-old allegedly tripped her father and when he fell down she hit him repeatedly with the ice pick after strangling him.
Afterwards, he allegedly sat next to him watching the 67-year-old man take his last breath.
Burke then broke all the home’s windows in what she described “as an act of liberation,” officers said.
When officers arrived, they found Burke “clapping … because she was so happy.”
