Perform tasks on air conditioners and heating equipment. Calibrate, install, troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, electronic and digital controls.

The requirements are:

  • High school graduate or equivalent completion of a recognized apprenticeship program in the HVAC field, or four years of experience.
  • Related education may be substituted for up to two years of experience on a year-by-year basis.
  • Possession of an EPA Universal License is required, as well as a Rocky Mountain Gas License.

Install, maintain and repair large and complex HVAC systems used in commercial buildings such as: offices, schools, hospitals, data centers and manufacturing facilities.

Diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems involving a variety of equipment such as chillers, boilers, air handling units, building automation systems, and rooftop units.

Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimal system performance and efficiency.

The requirements are:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an HVAC technician program with a focus on commercial systems.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience working on commercial HVAC systems.
  • Must be able to work on-call rotation on weekends.
  • You must pass the hair follicle test
  • Must pass BACKGROUND check
  • TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Certificate).
  • Extensive knowledge of thermodynamics, refrigeration, electrical systems and building automation controls.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment and work in a variety of conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Experience with specific types of commercial HVAC systems (e.g., chillers, VRF systems, building automation platforms)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with complex electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience in brazing, soldering, and other metalworking skills.
  • Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) and building automation protocols.

The requirements are:

Minimum Qualifications: Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) vocational or technical certification and 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or 4 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Type I/Type II Certification for Refrigerant Handling

Completion of a 2-year HVAC/R technical or vocational program, mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.
