WASHINGTON, July 15 (Archyde.com) – U.S. household sentiment improved slightly in July, preliminary results from the University of Michigan monthly survey showed on Friday.
Its confidence index rose to 51.1 from 50.0 in June as economists and analysts polled by Archyde.com on average forecast a drop to 49.9.
The component of consumers’ judgment of their current situation increased to 57.1 from 53.8 the previous month.
That of the outlook, on the other hand, fell to 47.3, its lowest level since May 1980, after 47.5 in June.
