Authorities said officers assigned to the former president’s rally made contact with a driver in an SUV at a checkpoint near the intersection of 52nd Avenue and Celebration Drive. There, officials found the man was in illegal possession of a handgun, a carbine and a high-capacity magazine. That man, later identified as 49-year-old Vem Miller, was booked into the John J. Benoit Detention Center.
