All 50 Democratic Party chairmen have endorsed Kamala Harris as the party’s new presidential nominee against Republican nominee and former president Donald Trump. The chairmen, Reuters reports, held a conference call after Joe Biden announced he was stepping aside as the party’s nominee. “Following President Biden’s announcement, our members immediately rallied behind a candidate who has a long track record of winning tough elections and is a proven leader on the issues that matter to Americans: reproductive freedom, preventing gun violence, protecting the climate, justice reform and rebuilding the economy,” Ken Martin, chairman of the Association of Democratic State Committees, said in a statement.

Harris is also gathering more support within the ranks of the Democrats. According to CNN, there are over 500 deputies ready to support her as a candidate after the exit of President Biden. More than 500 Democratic delegates have already pledged allegiance to him, awaiting the party’s National Convention, which will take place at the end of August in Chicago, according to American television. In total, 4,700 delegates will be called to express their choice during the convention.
