The index stood at 58.6 points, less than the 59.5 points of the preliminary estimate, published in the middle of the month, and less than analysts’ expectations.

The latter predicted that the final index would be identical to the preliminary index.

It is, however, up 0.7% from August.

The main factor behind this improvement is the slight slowdown in inflation.
