PRESIDENT of the United States (US) Joe Biden said there would be a peaceful transfer of power on January 20, after Republican Donald Trump won the presidential election and called on Americans to lower the political temperature.
Biden will also speak with Trump to reassure him that he has directed his staff to do just that. But he acknowledged the defeat felt by many Democrats
“Setback is inevitable. Giving up is inexcusable,” Biden said in the White House Rose Garden, Friday (8/11).

“Defeat doesn’t mean we lost,” he said.
“You can’t love your country only if you win. You can’t love your neighbor only if you agree. What we hope to do, no matter who you vote for, is to see each other not as enemies, but as fellow Americans Lower the temperature,” he added.
Biden said this presidential election had proven the integrity of the US electoral system and promised an orderly government transition process. Biden acknowledged that the US Presidential Election was honest and fair.

“I also hope we can eliminate questions about the integrity of the American electoral system. It is honest, fair, and transparent. It can be trusted, win or lose,” he explained.
With just 74 days remaining in his term, Biden promised to make every day count. “That’s the responsibility we have to the American people,” he stressed.
“Setbacks are inevitable, but giving up is unforgivable,” he concluded.
Biden invited Trump to come to meet him at the White House. Then, the Trump campaign said Trump was coming.
