The United States Department of Defense (US) announced a new military aid package for Ukraine worth $2 billion and support for $200 million, authorized by the president Joe Biden.
This additional aid package, which is called the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, covers ammunition and spare parts for air defense systems, reported Sputnik.
In a statement, the entity indicated that the funds will be used for the acquisition of interceptors for the Patriot and Nasams air defense systems.
Regarding the additional support of 150 million dollars, through the so-called Presidential Reduction Authority, it contains missiles for Hawk air defense systems, ammunition for Himars, artillery cartridges, Javelin anti-tank systems and TOW missiles, among others, as well as training and military education.
For his part, the Secretary of the US Department of State, Antony Blinken, specified that this is the seventh package of aid that Biden has authorized for Ukraine and that they will send it “as soon as possible.”
Given these actions of U.S., the Russian authorities had already warned regarding the West’s policy of sending weapons to Ukraine, which does not contribute to the negotiations between the parties to end the conflict.
