American stock indices closed the trading session of Friday, October 14, 2022, (end of trading week) with a noticeable decline; The session witnessed for the second day a state of sharp fluctuations; The market started the session with a strong rise before turning to the downside.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined during Friday’s trading, by 1.3%, or 403 points, to record 29,634 points, but recorded weekly gains of about 1.1%.
The broader “Standard & Poor’s 500” index also fell by 2.4%, or 86 points, to reach the level of 3,583 points.
The Nasdaq index fell by 3.08%, or 327 points, to record 10,331 points.
US Treasury yields rise
The yield on US Treasuries turned higher today, as the yield on 10-year debt rose above 4%, and the yield on two-year bonds rose above 4.5%.
The University of Michigan survey of US consumer confidence showed that inflation expectations over the next year turned higher again this month, threatening further monetary policy tightening by the Federal Reserve.

European and Japanese stocks in the session Friday, October 14, 2022
With regard to European markets, during the session on Friday, October 14, 2022, the “Stoxx 600” index rose by 0.6%, equivalent to two points, to record the level of 391 points, and the French “CAC” index rose by 0.9% by about 52 points, recording the level of 5931 points.
The German “Dax” index rose 0.7% by about 82 points at the level of 12437 points, and the British “FTSE 100” index rose by 0.1%, or 8 points, to record 6,858 points.
In Japan, the “Nikkei” index rose by 3.2% to the level of 27,090 thousand points, and the broader “TOPIX” index rose by 2.3%, to record 1898 points.
