New York: A senior US State Department official resigned in protest over Joe Biden’s unilateral support for Israel. Josh Paul, who held the position of director of political and military affairs at the State Department, resigned citing the fallibility of Biden’s handling of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Josh expressed concern over the continued support and aid to Israel. “I’m afraid we’re repeating the same mistakes we’ve made in the past decades, and I don’t want to be a part of it anymore,” Josh Paul said in a post on his LinkedIn account. Biden, who arrived in Tel Aviv on Wednesday, declared his full support for Israel.

Biden is the first US president to visit Israel during the war. Josh has been working for the past 11 years in the Department of Arms Transfers to Allied Nations. Josh added that we can no longer support giving more arms to one side and that it is our responsibility to speak out once morest gross violations of human rights by whoever is committing them.

The US gives Israel $3.8 billion in military aid a year. Protests are strong in the Arab world over Biden’s action, which publicly defended Israel in the Al Ahli hospital attack. Biden, who said that he was saddened and angry by the explosion at the hospital, responded that it seems that it was done by another group, not you.

His current visit is to make it clear to the world who America is with. Israel has the right to self-defense. “The courage and commitment of the Israelis is amazing,” Biden said. Netanyahu also thanked Biden for the American support.
