US State Department Approves Germany’s $2.9 Billion Acquisition of AIM-120°C-8 AMRAAM Missiles: Details and Implications

The US State Department approved the acquisition of $2.9 billion worth of AIM-120°C-8 AMRAAM missiles by Germany. Information regarding this is transmitted by the Agency for Cooperation of the US Department of Security.

“The German government intends to purchase (from the United States – editorial note URA.RU) 969 missiles, as well as related equipment. The major contractor will be Raytheon. The decision has been approved,” the US Department of Security told TASS.

The AMRAAM missile is an advanced medium-range air-to-air missile. It was previously known that The Pentagon made an order on 37 AMRAAM from the American defense company Raytheon. The agency plans to give part of the arsenal to Ukraine.
